April 20, 2006 12:09 PM US Eastern Timezone
ZEELAND, Mich.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 20, 2006--TLC (Total Logistic Control), a unit of SUPERVALU (SVU), today announced that industry veteran Pete Westermann has joined TLC in the role of Chief Operating Officer. Westermann will oversee all operations for the rapidly expanding supply chain services company.
Westermann's logistics career began over 20 years ago in a Milwaukee warehouse. From there, Cardinal Health, a logistics service provider specializing in health care products, sought Westermann to serve in multiple executive positions. Next he moved to Livingston Group International, a logistics provider specializing in healthcare products. Under Westermann's leadership, the company became attractive to UPS Supply Chain Solutions, who acquired Livingston in 2001. Westermann stayed with UPS for two years as a Senior Vice President of Business Development and Client Solutions, where he was involved in many of the 20-plus acquisitions UPS made during that period. Westermann most recently served as President and CEO of Universal Solutions International, Inc., a supply chain and reverse logistics services provider.
According to TLC's CEO and President, Bob Koerner, "Our COO search was exhaustive. This role is essential to our continued rapid growth in supply chain services. Pete will be instrumental in balancing our operational excellence with the demands of profitable growth. He's a great addition to our team and we are excited to have him."
