TLC Challenges Michigan Service Tax

October 12, 2007 11:44 AM US Eastern Timezone -- TLC announced today an aggressive effort to overturn the new Michigan Service Tax. The tax, if enacted, will deal a devastating blow to the Michigan economy.
TLC's CEO, Bob Koerner, working with a phalanx of business and political leaders, are organizing efforts to amend, rescind or repeal this destructive and ill-conceived tax.

Specifically the warehouse tax component, which would levy a 6% on all warehouse services, is of most concern to those that work in the supply chain.
"It came down to a decision to act."
We knew we could not wait. This revenue flow, once started, would be difficult to stop. We have about 60 days to stop this train...if we don't customers will begin leaving. They will leave not only our company, but also the state of Michigan. In the end this tax could be devastating." said Bob Koerner, TLC's CEO.
In the coming weeks TLC will be working closely with trade associations, competitors, and industry partners to stop this tax.
