TLC's Environmental Commitment - Mission Statement
As a nationally recognized 3PL provider, TLC will be actively engaged in environmental sustainability programs and projects. TLC's culture will facilitate associate involvement in environmental stewardship and sustainability measures.
If you were to ask TLC's President, Pete Westermann, he would tell you, "We've always practiced sound energy conservation and recycling programs - we just didn't call them 'green. " Today, sustainability has a seat at the table. We address it regularly with clients and adjust our operating environments to meet their sustainability requirements. Both competitive pressures and marketplace perceptions will drive every major company to factor sustainability into future supply chain equations."
To further enhance these efforts, we established a corporate office "Green Team" in 2008. The sole function of that team is to come up with ideas to reduce waste, lessen energy comsumption and promote recycling.
These efforts have resulted in TLC being awarded the Supply & Demand Executive Green Supply Chain Award for 2009.
Established initiatves for this team include:
Awareness – Promote awareness of TLC Corporate Office Green Teams goals, projects, initiatives and results. Create awareness among associates on how the decisions they make can affect the future sustainability not only of TLC, but the earth as well.
Community Involvement – Become involved in the community through volunteering to create a healthier planet and assist others in making eco-friendly decisions.
Energy/Carbon Footprint Reduction – Actively take steps to reduce energy and TLC’s carbon footprint through behavior modification, alternative solutions and associate awareness. In 2009, TLC earned the highest score given by the EPA, to read more click here.
